Mexico Mission Trip

The annual Mission to Mexico will take place on March 13 – March 21, 2009. The group will be traveling to Cuidad Victoria to help the congregations that we have been assisting over the past few years.

The bus will leave from Des Moines on Friday March 13th at 4 p.m. and return to Des Moines sometime around noon on Saturday March 21st.

Our King’s Highway Bus will leave and return to The Machine Shed Restaurant at I35/I80 and Hickman Rd. Please plan to be there no later than 3:30 p.m. to load the bus.

The cost per person has gone up $50 dollars this year to $500 per person. (The actual cost is closer to $600 but we are doing everything we can to reduce that amount.)

Please get your name to me by February 22nd if you are going to go this year.

The hotel and bus fees have gone up and the cost of supplies have almost doubled from last year. If you are in need of help or have questions please let me know. In the past all of you have been very helpful and your generosity of supplies and funds overwhelming. As a group we will need to have around $9,500 to ensure everyone that has shown an interest in going has that opportunity. If you can help in any way this year please let me know over the next few weeks. The funds will be needed no later than Sunday, March 8th, PM Service.

Thank you for your support and wonderful prayers!

Darin Thompson, Missions Deacon

Prayer Requests

From the Sparks Family:  Tyler’s best friend Kenneth Collins and his wife just delivered a pre-mature baby and he has some sort of infection in his body.  The doctors don’t know what it is and are very scared for his life.  I am asking all of you to say a special prayer for the Collins’ family and their precious baby Cash Samuel Collins.  I think the more we honor and petition the Lord in this matter the better.  I know that God is all knowing and powerful, but I truly feel the need to ask all of my loved ones to pray for our precious dear friend!  Thank you! Tammy Sparks

We have received word that Lloyd and Barbara Deal’s 13 year old grandson, Connor, is in critical condition with pneumonia and staph infection in both lungs. Connor is the son of Ron and Nan Deal. There is a possibility he may lose one lung and they are very concerned about his kidney’s. There has been some improvement in his temperature as of yesterday. He is in an induced coma and on life support. Please pray for Conner and his family.

Archie Cook was able to get an MRI and they have identified the source of the pain in his arm. It is a herniated disc in his neck. They have put him on muscle relaxers. If these do not solve the problem by March then they will do a series of 3 shots of steriods into his neck.

Toni Lovejoy’s grandmother has died but her father is feeling better although she would still like our prayers!
