Volume 32 Number 11

A Note from Mrs. Barbara…

For many years, Barbara Petty has voluntarily overseen the effort to save and redeem canned goods labels from Best Choice and Campbell’s products on behalf of Children’s Homes.  Here is an article she has written about this ministry which was in the Children’s Home magazine in Paragould, Arkansas.

I want to thank everyone who saves the UPC symbols from the Best Choice and Campbell’s labels.  Since 1993 Children’s Homes has redeemed the Best choice UPCs worth over $6,000.  Items such as TVs, lawn mowers, a refrigerator, a washing machine, sports equipment, and schoolhouse supplies have been bought with that money.  The Campbell’s UPCs are used to order items from the Campbell catalog.  Most items ordered have been for sports equipment and supplies for the James Balcom Learning Center.

I am extremely grateful that so many of you are helping with this ongoing project and encourage you to continue.  I also encourage others to start helping.  Ask your relatives, neighbors, friends, and co-workers to help and involve your congregation in this project by setting up a collection box in the foyer and by writing periodic reminders in your bulletins.

I mailed the 2008 collection of Best Choice UPCs in December and will mail the Campbell UPCs this spring.

Thank you for your support!

There is a basket in the Commons Area in which you can  put  the  Campbells  UPC labels.  April Mazak collects these and periodically ships them.
