Hospice Care

Hospice care. These are words that I for one was not ready to put with me. To me they mean end of life as we know it. It brings up scary pictures of someone lying in pain at home waiting to die. Hospice is much more than that. It is providing medical care and assistance for people who want to stay home instead of entering the hospital scene. We can receive care from house cleaning, someone sitting with me, basic care of shaving and showering, and of course anything medical that I need. So I signed up for Hospice care yesterday. They even started me out with a shave so I have my goatee back. I think I’ll like Hospice.

Life is like Hospice. What we see or hear on the outside is nothing like what is on the inside. Take shampoo for example. They have more flavors than we can ever imagine and they don’t taste anything like the smell. I personally like the fruit flavors but I can guarantee that the taste of peach shampoo is nothing like the smell or the taste of real peaches. Satan does that kind of thing with sin. He wants us to believe what is good for us is not appealing and vice versa. Israel was encouraged to check the prophet’s word to see if it was from God. We need to do the same.

God is good!
