Friends and Family Day 2007
We are again planning to host another Friends and Family Day at Grand View. Please note that the date has been changed from April 8Â to the last Sunday in April, April 29, 2007.
The success of this program comes as a result of each member working to invite friends and family for this special day of study, worship and fellowship.
For this year, we have invited bother Dan Lightfoot to be our speaker, and the theme for this year’s program is “Living By Faith.” The combined adult class and Brother Lightfoot’s lesson will both focus on “living by faith.”
We encourage each member and family to pray about this activity, and to schedule their own activities to be a apart of the program on this day.
Here is the schedule for Friends and Family Day:
| March 18 | Flyers will be posted around the building announcing the activities, and the invitations will be ready, and the mailboxes will be set out. We are encouraging everyone to invite ten. We will be using a form Art Wallis has used in his “personal work” class, titled, ”Ten Most Wanted.” Members can work from this list to build their final invitation lists. |
| March 25 | On this date, we will include another article in the bulletin, including the final schedule. |
| April 1 | Reminder in the bulletin |
| April 15 | This date will be the deadline to return invitations [with the return address of the family or person offering the invitation, recipient's address and unsealed.] We are asking you again to place an asterisk where the stamp would go to indicate the sender would like Art Wallis or the elders to send a note encouraging the recipients to accept the invitation. |
| April 16 | The invitations mailed |
| April 23 | Note sent from Art or the elders. |
| April 29 | Friends and Family Day. |
Let us all pray about, let us all plan for, and let us all prepare for this special activity.

News & Notes
Today Art Wallis begins a New Members Class in the Library/Conference room. It’s open to all who have been baptized or started attending Grandview within the last 7 years, when our last New Members class was held. We will be watching a video series entitled: “Now That I Am A Christian”, and deal with the basics of Christian teaching.
On Tuesday, March 13th, the Sonbeams will be having lunch at The Bistro on the Ankeny DMACC campus. This is in the Conference Center, building #7. We will meet there at 11:30. The cost of the meal, including dessert and drink is $8.00. We will need a head count, so let Lyle or Mayrene know if you plan to go. If you want to carpool, we will leave the building at 11:00. The Culinary Art class at DMACC, which our Lyndsay Gordon is attending, will prepare the meal. Not only will we enjoy a nice meal-we will be able to encourage and show support for Lyndsay! What a deal!!
So far, $700 has been contributed toward the $4900 needed to send our Grandview members on the mission trip to Mexico on March 16-24. This means we’re one seventh of the way there. If you have not already done so, please consider helping us meet this goal by next Sunday, March 11. To contribute, give your money to one of the elders, or to Darin Thompson.
Ladies’ Fellowship: A service project to help the Mexico Mission team is planned for Tuesday, March 13 at 7:00 pm. Please see Donna Bailey for items needed, if you plan to attend, or would like to contribute an item to the care package.
Central Iowa Missions: This week, Mike Melvin will speak in the morning, Todd Johnson will speak in the evening, and Darin Thompson will speak at Ogden. Next week, Mike Melvin will speak in the morning, Michael Mazak will speak in the evening, and Orrin Nearhoof will speak at Blockton..
