Unsung Heroes
We come to the church building for our Bible Classes and worship and may never think of all of the work that goes into keeping everything nice for us.
A “thank-you” should be given to the Dales for keeping the building looking so nice and clean.
A “thank-you” should be given to Robert Gordon and his “helpers” for the good job of keeping the snow removed and the building repaired. In the summer, his crew does a great job on the yard!
They should be given special thanks, because when the weather is bad, it makes their job a lot more difficult. Although we have had a lot of cold weather and snow, the sidewalks & parking lot are clean and the inside of the building is, too!
Thanks also goes to those who prepare and fold the bulletin, those who work in the nursery, those who teach and help with classes, those who preach the word, those who are elders and deacons doing their work, those who encourage others, those who help prepare the Lord’s supper, those who pray for and contribute to the many good works of the church. Thanks to those of you who get up early to get your kids cleaned and dressed and bring them to Bible class on time.
Thanks to all of you who take seriously your responsibilities of being part of the Lord’s Church and the Grandview family!
-Art Wallis

News & Notes
We wish a warm welcome to Alton & Sharyn Norman. Alton comes to us from Palmyra, Indiana, where he has preached since 1993. Please stay for our potluck meal today. It will be followed by a question and answer session with the Normans.
A total of $4900 is needed to send our Grandview members on the mission trip to Mexico on March 16-24. We challenge you to be a part of this good work by helping to meet this goal by Sunday, March 11. To contribute, give your money to one of the elders, or to Darin Thompson.
The Blood Drive was a great success! There were 22 people who came to give blood, and 21 that were able to donate. Marnie would like to thank all who helped behind the scenes making phone calls, cookies, serving, and loading, as well as everyone who gave blood! There were three people who came from the community, and Alton Norman rolled up his sleeve as well! A great turnout, especially considering the icy weather. Thanks also to Marnie Walker, who organized this year’s successful event!
Art will be teaching a New Members Class starting on next Sunday morning, March 4th, in the Library/Conference room during the Bible class hour. This class is open to all who have been baptized or started attending Grandview within the last 7 years, which is when our last New Members class was held. We will be watching a series of 5 videos entitled: “Now That I Am A Christian”. We will branch out from there dealing with a lot of the basics of Christian doctrine. There will be no preaching classes this coming quarter.
Central Iowa Missions: This week, Alton Norman will be preaching both in the morning and in the evening. Next week, Mike Melvin will speak in the morning, Todd Johnson will speak in the evening, and Darin Thompson will speak at Ogden.
