A Winning Spirit
The legendary Bear Bryant said, “I’m just a plowboy from Arkansas, but I have learned how to hold a team together. How to lift some men up, how to calm down others, until finally they’ve got one heart-beat together, a team.”
He continued, “There’s just three things I’d ever say:
- If anything goes bad, – “I did it.”
- If anything goes semi-good, then – “We did it.”
- If anything goes real good, then – “You did it.”
Then he said, “That’s all it takes to get people to win football games for you.” Coach Bear Bryant makes it all sound so easy, but it’s hard for most to see since we are so eager to pass the blame to others and to take all the credit for ourselves.
Notice again what he said:
- If things go bad – “I did it.”
- If things go fair – “We did it.”
- But, if things go real good – “You did it.”
That will win every time. Remember Jesus teaches us, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

Blood Drive, February 24:
- Every Sunday as we wake up, about 40,000 units of blood will be needed nationwide.
- Every 30 seconds, about the time it takes to say the Lord’s prayer, 15 people, perhaps a child or even one of your loved ones, will need blood.
- Every 60 seconds, about the time it takes to find our way to our seats in the auditorium, 30 burn victims, cancer patients, and/or surgery patients will receive transfusions.
- Every 90 minutes, while we sit and participate in our services of worship, someone like you could go through the blood donation process.
- Every tomorrow, the need starts all over again.
