Welcome To Our Services
Friends & Family Day 2007
We extend a cordial welcome to all our visitors. We are so glad that you could be present at our services today. We truly appreciate visitors and consider you our honored guests. It does our hearts good to have you here, and we hope you will benefit in some way during our time together. So it is in love that we welcome you today.
The theme for our study and worship together is this: Living By Faith.
Ours is an age of doubt and skepticism. People who have an abiding and obedient faith in God are daily confronted with militant unbelief. We must all work to deepen our faith so that we can be strong enough to face the challenge.
A saving, obedient faith is built on the evidence of God’s word [Romans 10:17]. There is sufficient evidence for a strong, vibrant and obedient faith. The challenge is our utilization of it.
There are many motives for seeking a strong, vibrant and obedient faith: (a) There is great joy in believing [Philippians 1:25], but not in doubt or fear; (b) Faith gives us victory over Satan and the wicked world [I John 5:4]; (c) An obedient faith makes the hope of heaven a sure conviction [Hebrews 11:1] (d) With a deep faith, we are able to help those who are struggling with doubt and unbelief; and (e) With a strong, obedient faith, we can show just how weak the arguments are of those who oppose the truth of God’s word.
Living by faith is a far cry from reading and talking about it. Living by faith is our way of finding coherence in and giving meaning to the relationships that make up our lives. More specifically, living by faith means we acknowledge God’s existence; we trust in His promises; we acknowledge Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and that He is living; we acknowledge the inspiration of the Bible; and we trust the promises God sets out in His word.
Let us all be encouraged to Live By Faith.

News & Notes
One hundred and still counting. In mid-year 2004 we began to advertise a free Bible Correspondence Course (BCC) through the various shoppers newspapers in Polk County. We alternated among several communities over the years. As we began to receive requests for the BCC, sister Marge Stevens volunteered to carry out the responsibility for this program. She has done this very ably. She corrects the courses and sends out the next study guide and if a person requests a different study, she takes care of that also. She maintains accurate records of the names of each student and the courses taken. This week she informed us that we have now reached ONE HUNDRED BCC’s. We thank Marge for this work, and we look forward to the next 100.
